Last night was PTF at the kids’ school which means report cards!
As soon as we arrived, which was a tad late The Boy jumped out of the car and ran inside. He was just in time for his name to be called on stage for A/B honor roll. When the rest of us walked in the door and were headed to our seats, The Teenagers name was then called for A/B honor roll too!
I was a little disappointed that their grades dropped a tad from their last report card. They still got A/B honor roll so how disappointed could I really be, eh? The Man says that their grading scale is a little different from what ours was back at home.
Here is the scale:
99 A+, 97 A, 95 A-, 93 B+, 90 B, 88 B-, 85 C+, 81 C, 78 C-, 75 D+, 71 D, 68 D-, 67 F
The Teenagers Report Card: The Boys Report Card:
Bible: 99 A+ Bible: 97 A
English: 95 A- History: 97 A
History: 96 A Language: 93 B
Phys Ed: 100 A+ Math: 94 B+
Math: 93 B+ Reading: 92 B
Science: 97 A Science: 100 A+

After receiving their report cards I re-registered the kids for next year….yep, BOTH of them!! The Teenager is staying at the private school. I have gone back and forth on what to do and even before I handed in the papers last night I was still a little unsure. As we sat there listening to the pastor talk, it was like he read my mind. All of a sudden he started talking about testing and the differences from our school verses the public schools. He talked testing scores, teaching curriculum, etc. and in my heart I knew at that moment that the right thing to do was for her to stay in private school.
On the way home we treated the kids to blizzards at Dairy Queen for a job well done!
When we got home The Teenager was chatting with Junior on IM. Yes, they have uncomfortably remained friends. All of a sudden she yells “Mom…Mommy come here!! You gotta see this, Mommmmmmmmmmy come here!!” I walk into the kitchen only to read on her IM that Junior has just confided in her that he likes her BFF!!
She was laughing as she continued to say over and over to me, I told you so!
She seems to not care at all, me on the other hand-I would have been a complete mess at her age.
Isn’t it funny how fast a teenagers feelings change? Just the other day Junior was Im’ing me telling me how much he still cared for The Teenager and how he hopes one day that they could get back together.
Ahh such is life…the people you think you know turn out to be the people you don't really know at all.
