Yesterday was so excitingly wonderful!!
I woke up to another gorgeous day, jumped out of bed, showered and left the house. Lil Princesses and I headed downtown, fed the ducks and walked along the water just simply enjoying the beautiful day.
The night belonged to The Teenager, her BFF, and I!!
I took the girls to see Second Serenade in concert at The Norva!!
We had so much fun that I don’t even know how to put it all down in words.
Who would think that I would have so much fun at a concert with my teenage daughter!?
The drive there was insane…you could feel the excitement in the car the closer we got. That teenage giddiness and excitement, I remember it so well….
The first band that I met and feel head over heels in love with was Faith No More…oh dear lord, I loved Michael Patton!! The year was 1990, I had just turned 15. I vividly remember waiting in line to meet them; my heart was pounding out of my chest. The fast thundering heartbeat that I could hear in my ears, feel in my throat as I stood next to him and took a picture, as he talked to me and the band signed my cassette tape cover-ahh, it was more than my teenage heart could bear.
I tried fixing the picture; it is so wrinkled because I carried it everywhere I went back then. Eww-look at me!!
Oh, seeing this picture made me Google Michael Patton, and let me tell ya-to me, he is STILL just as HOTT today as he was then-yeeks!
When we arrived the girls were out of the car faster than I could grab my stuff…you know, my 2 cameras because I had to take a like a bazillion pictures! I don’t think my feet could have walked faster over to the building.
We met up with my cousins’ wife and her daughter. They had won a meet and greet with Second Serenade and free tickets! They were already in line so we jumped in with them, which was very near to the front-AWESOME! Being near the front it allowed us to be one of the first few inside the building where we immediately dashed and scooted our way very close to the stage.
The first band to come on was a local band called Days Difference. They were very good, the girls loved them. When they were done performing the girls were able to meet them and have their pictures taken with them.

Then next band on was Rookie of the Year. The girls also got to meet and get pictures with them too.
Vocals- Ryan The Teenager and Ryan
The Teenager and Brandon-Guitar
The Teenager and one of the other guitar players-oops forgot his name!
The White Tie Affair performed next! I really liked this band, they played well and their performance was invigorating. I will definitely be downloading their songs to my iPod. The Teenager said they were her favorite of the night which explains why as soon as they finished playing she jetted off to the table to meet them. The girls were the first in line where they chatted with the band, got autographs and a few pictures taken.
Vocals- Chris Wallace

The Teenager and Sean P-Guitar The Teenager and Ryan-Guitar and Keys
Second Serenade closed the night out with a perfectly perfected performance. Near the end they played my favorite song, the song I had on my MySpace forever, Fall for You. It’s absolutely beautiful!
If you haven’t heard of them before or heard the song- here is the video, take a peek.
The Teenager and Jon's Brother-guitar and keys
The girls had so much fun and to be honest, so did us adults…even though we were probably the only 2 in the entire building. Ha-ha! After the show we lingered around for a bit and got some more pictures of the girls and the band members. I even got my picture taken with Ryan from The White Tie Affair.

The night was a blast!!
Listening to the giggling girls all the way home sure did make the very late night completely worth it.
I took about 475 pictures. I am in the process of uploading most of them to my flickr account, so if you want to see more of our fun, please click here. If they are not up yet, keep checking back!
