It sucked!

The pool has been a refreshing treat this summer.

Lots of usage, and with lots of usage comes lots of dirt. The Man has been working really hard lately trying to get it cleaned out after 2 days of bad storms and heavy rain…the wind blew a lot of crap in it.

Yesterday I asked The Boy to take the hose and suck along the bottom to get some of the dirt out.

After about 45 minutes of being out there he comes running in the house…

“Mommmm!! Ughhh, ouch-ouch…look what happened!”

As he was swimming his way along the bottom his finger got sucked into the hose.

He swam to the top to pull his finger out and when he finally managed to pull it out his left hand swung back making his right hand hit his chest.

His right hand….the hand with the hose in it!!

At this point I’m laughing so hard looking at my son standing before me.

“Mom stop laughing, it really hurt…I couldn't get it off, the more I pulled the tighter the suction got and the more it hurt!!” he exclaimed.

** The following picture is only available to you because I had to bribe him with food, well candy. **

hickey 001

Can you see why I was laughing so hard?

My boy got his boob sucked, resulting in his first ever enormous hickey!! Ha-ha!

Yeah, these kind of things ONLY happen to him!

Work? This cant be work!

Tuesday was my first day….ON THE JOB!! I was completely nervous and very excited!!

In fact I was almost late due to the fact that I had no clue what to wear and was obsessing over not wanting to look too dressy but not yet extremely casual either.

Once I arrived at 8:15am I met up with S., we took the work truck, a few things that needed to be dropped off and headed on our way. We made a few stops before arriving to our 1st restaurant.

At our 1st restaurant the reality of it all hit me hard.

Oh my goodness-what am I doing here!?!? I must take pictures, pictures that I need to look totally awesome because I’m hoping that this will help me generate more business in the future, my future-that’s when I thought all this would happen to me, not now…am I ready for this, can I do this…oh my goodness, oh my goodness, oh my goodness!!

I got my camera, grabbed my bag and headed outside.

The night before I prepared my camera bag and looked it over a thousand times. All batteries were charged, it was filled with memory cards, etc. Everything was good to go!! But when I went to take my 1st picture my camera WOULD NOT WORK!!!!

My heart dropped beneath the sand that was laying under my feet!!

WHAT THE !??!?!?!?!

This could NOT be happening to me, I have a back up camera but ugh it’s nothing like this one.

I don’t exactly know what was wrong-I finally got it working and it was fine the rest of the day, but that moment, that feeling it was something I don’t ever want to experience again.

Right now I have to work with the equipment that I have… to be honest, I really didn’t plan to have a JOB or opportunity like this yet so I don’t exactly have all the things that I want.

After shooting we headed to the next place, this was a small drive up. The owner didn’t want his picture taken and there wasn’t anything to be photographed indoors so just a few outside shots and I was done! Check out this view in front of the drive up…

Talk about a hard day at work!! ;) Have I mentioned how this is a dream come true, because it is!

Next was a small diner, another quick and easy shoot.

Afterwards we headed to our last restaurant of the day. This place was right on the water and had the most gorgeous views.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch, small talk and total relaxation. Afterwards I snapped a few shots and talked to the owners. This is one place that I will return in the evening to photograph because it’s very well known for the sunset view at dinner and live music. I can’t wait!

All in all, total shooting time/working for the day was maybe 2 hours. It was fun, scary, relaxing, a tad challenging, and ultimately a dream come true!

Oh-this is the only day I will be with someone, we wanted to “get the whole picture” together. All other shoots I will be alone.

I plan on sharing pictures after I release them to the company and they pick the ones that they are going to use.

When I made my Photography website I took my domain so my photo-blog disappeared. I have been working behind the scenes on getting it back up and running. I’ve deleted all the old photos so that I can start fresh. If you would like to follow along with me on my photography journey please subscribe by going here, mdb-photo.blog

Its here that I will post pictures of “jobs” or pictures that I have taken that I love but don’t want to flood my own personal blog with…hope you will follow along.

WordFUL Wednesday!

I’ve been so behind on blogging…this post is later than I wanted but I had to get it down…

Our 4th of July 2009

We woke up Saturday morning, bodies aching and very sun burned from Friday. The Boy was burnt on his tummy, the Teenager was red all over, and the side of my left leg was bloody red! I was feeling so bad that just letting the dog outside brought tears to my eyes, heat and sunburn do not mix well together.

Yeah, it didn’t look like we were going to be doing much of anything this July 4th.

I was wrong.

My In-Laws surprised us with a visit along with my SIL, niece and nephew. And to drop off THIS….

Since my husband is the smartest man in the world and can do anything and everything (so he likes to think) he will now be working on restoring this beauty! *sigh* Might I add this has been my dream car since I was like 10 years old…I always dreamed about having one in my future and NOW one is parked in my garage!! I know it’s not mine but in reality, it’s the closest I will probably ever get to having one… so, I CAN DREAM!!!

After a relaxing and fun visit with them we went back to chilling out for awhile.

Around 5 we all headed over to the Teenagers BFF’s house for a wonderful July 4th cookout-Yankee Doodle Dandy! Dinner was delicious, watching the kids play on the tree swing was entertaining (especially when Daddy got on it!), and the trampoline jumping was absolutely amusing! Around 8:30 we all headed downtown where we sat on the water and enjoyed the booming fireworks. It was a wonderful, happy and safe July 4th which is perfect to me.

Here are a few pictures from our day…

Our Friday Fun

Last summer at The Mans work cookout the Teenager and the Boy tried wakeboarding for the first time.

The Teenager fell in love and ever since she has been bugging the Man to bring home a boat from work so that we could go out and do it again. Thursday night the Man made her wishes come true and pulled into the driveway with a boat and good news that he had tomorrow (Friday) off.

We wanted an early start Friday morning but it rained a bit so it put us later in the water than I wanted at 10am. Everyone was so happy, so excited and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect! We had no clue where we were going, what we were going to do….we just drove, drove, and drove some more. We came upon this gorgeous little secluded spot that the kids declared their “little island”.

They jumped out of the boat, swam to shore and did some exploring while I sat happily in the boat watching them from afar.

About the time I was ready to head back we realized just how far out we really were, it took us 2 long hours to get back home. At this point I was so beat up, exhausted, and sun burned that I was not a very happy camper. Beat up?? Huh?? Well this “boat” in my opinion is like a big inner tube that can go the speed of 50+ miles an hour. Here is a picture I found on the internet of it since I forgot to take one-but this one looks EXACTLY like it.

At one point the water got real choppy and I went flying about 5 feet in the air only to land smack down, hard as hell on my ass!!! ( I was sitting on the spot in the very front ) In pain I look over to see the Man and kids laughing hysterically as I sat there feeling like I just broke my tailbone! This was nothing like the boat that we took out last summer but we had a lot of fun and that’s all that really matters.

Upon our arrival home we noticed that we all got some sun-that is, except the Lil Princess so we sat in the living room and crashed for about 2 hours from pure exhaustion!

Later that evening….

The Teenager has been asking for over a week if she could get her hair cut-not something that I wanted but I have had control over her hair for almost 15 years…I feel like it’s about time that she express herself, her personality, and her own style. So she went from this…

To this…

Ahhh!! Everyone thinks she looks so much older, sigh…my 1st born child, my new beginning, my best friend- I love her so much!

And that was our Friday!
