Tuesday was my first day….ON THE JOB!! I was completely nervous and very excited!!
In fact I was almost late due to the fact that I had no clue what to wear and was obsessing over not wanting to look too dressy but not yet extremely casual either.
Once I arrived at 8:15am I met up with S., we took the work truck, a few things that needed to be dropped off and headed on our way. We made a few stops before arriving to our 1st restaurant.
At our 1st restaurant the reality of it all hit me hard.
Oh my goodness-what am I doing here!?!? I must take pictures, pictures that I need to look totally awesome because I’m hoping that this will help me generate more business in the future, my future-that’s when I thought all this would happen to me, not now…am I ready for this, can I do this…oh my goodness, oh my goodness, oh my goodness!!
I got my camera, grabbed my bag and headed outside.
The night before I prepared my camera bag and looked it over a thousand times. All batteries were charged, it was filled with memory cards, etc. Everything was good to go!! But when I went to take my 1st picture my camera WOULD NOT WORK!!!!
My heart dropped beneath the sand that was laying under my feet!!
WHAT THE !??!?!?!?!
This could NOT be happening to me, I have a back up camera but ugh it’s nothing like this one.
I don’t exactly know what was wrong-I finally got it working and it was fine the rest of the day, but that moment, that feeling it was something I don’t ever want to experience again.
Right now I have to work with the equipment that I have… to be honest, I really didn’t plan to have a JOB or opportunity like this yet so I don’t exactly have all the things that I want.
After shooting we headed to the next place, this was a small drive up. The owner didn’t want his picture taken and there wasn’t anything to be photographed indoors so just a few outside shots and I was done! Check out this view in front of the drive up…
Talk about a hard day at work!! ;) Have I mentioned how this is a dream come true, because it is!
Next was a small diner, another quick and easy shoot.
Afterwards we headed to our last restaurant of the day. This place was right on the water and had the most gorgeous views.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch, small talk and total relaxation. Afterwards I snapped a few shots and talked to the owners. This is one place that I will return in the evening to photograph because it’s very well known for the sunset view at dinner and live music. I can’t wait!
All in all, total shooting time/working for the day was maybe 2 hours. It was fun, scary, relaxing, a tad challenging, and ultimately a dream come true!
Oh-this is the only day I will be with someone, we wanted to “get the whole picture” together. All other shoots I will be alone.
I plan on sharing pictures after I release them to the company and they pick the ones that they are going to use.
When I made my Photography website I took my domain so my photo-blog disappeared. I have been working behind the scenes on getting it back up and running.
